The Advantages of Democracy
- Democracy can provide for changes in government without violence. In a democracy, power can be transferred from one party to another by means of elections.
- Any government is bound by an election term after which it has to compete against other parties to regain authority. This system prevents monopoly of the ruling authority. The ruling party has to make sure it works for its people for it cannot remain being the authority after completing its term unless re-elected by the people.
•Everyone gets input into the process, without special qualifications.
•We feel like we have right.
•By definition, the majority of people who participate will like the results.
•Everyone is treated equally before the law, irrespective of caste, creed or sex.
•Everyone is entitled to freedom of speech, worship, occupation and to move through out the country.
•The dignity of man is recognized and respected, people are given ample opportunities to become strong and self reliant.
•We feel like we have right.
